Exactly what this EVENT was designed for. Empowerment through Self~Expressions! Chalking out artful visions and colorful dreams is simply cathartic! Putting your intentions and your vibrational energy back into the earth should be experienced by ALL, at least once a year! It is a wonderfully grounding experience that our past participants and anyone chalking at a festival will tell you is exhilarating. We highly recommend it! I have been chalking now for over a decade and eagerly await each new event and the possibilities they uniquely hold. Creating new temporary imagery of my own acceptance designs, re-creating another Artist’s work, collaborating with spectrum artist’s… meeting new friends and connecting with old.
Here were my 2015 chalking opportunities after last April’s FUN!
The Pasadena Chalk Festival (the largest on our planet!) is traditionally Father’s Day weekend. Our friend 2014 participant & 2015 Carpe Inspirus Award recipient Eileen Sobora and her family joined me for the second day of this (record breaking heat) 2~day event. Eileen chalking her crowd favorite Panda to add to my Giraffe and Ladybug. This was my 3rd year as a participant and definitely the hardest. Thanks to my partners or it may have gone incomplete. Whew. Cheers to teamwork on BIG squares!! Here are a few pictures of our Design: “Acceptance For All: Great and Small”…
In September we traveled north to Ventura Harbor for their Annual Street Art Festival. This was my 2nd yr. chalking at this beautiful venue, art show and sale. Keeping in my new tradition I chalked a spectrum Artist’s design at this seaside event. Tashi’s “Bird of Paradise” design…
Later in November I chalked the Pomona Chalk Festival for my first time. What a wonderful and casual event! I had been wanting a chance to chalk~up the cover of the groundbreaking and award winning book, NeuroTribes: The Legacy of Autism and the Future of Neurodiversity by Steve Silberman and to my amazement this event had a “Book Cover Theme.” Divinity!
What WILL BE chalked up next?….Well, the possibilities are ENORMOUS. The skies the limit…. SEE YOU SOON!
