Stand UP, Speak UP…Raul O. Munoz

Here at the AutismHWY Chalk Festival…not only do we chalk where we stand…we speak up and out against injustice ~Artfully!

AutismHWY and those of us amplifying the voice of Autistic people are tired of hearing about Autism from NON Autistic people. The information has been inaccurate and has distracted our community from being the BEST that it can be. It is a certainty that truly listening to and including Autistic people into ‘Autism Industry’ will change the world for all of US forever. The ultimate IN inclusion!!

This year we are lucky to have Raul O. Munoz as one of our event speakers!raul o munoz

I met Raul last year when he and other members of the Autistic Self Advocacy Network joined us! What a great guy. I was really moved when I later heard what he had to say about the event in OUR festival video by Manuel Valenzuela here:

I am really looking forward to hearing what Raul has to say this year! make sure you are here during the 2 o’clock hour to hear our speeches and guest performances!

Here is a quick preview from Raul himself:

The Autism CF is such an amazing event in that it promotes acceptance and love for the Autistic population. Despite where one falls on the spectrum, everyone has the right to feel accepted and loved. This event does that. It is a celebration where many Autistic people and supporters can come together and create a wonderful masterpiece through their art or just relax without feeling judged or turned away.
Autism has many faces, but some of those faces are not worry or fear. Us Autistics can be some of the brightest people on the planet. There may be challenges and while some of us may require more support than others, we can achieve a lot with love, patience, and persistence. There is no need for a “cure”.
